NCAA Football Power Rankings: Final 2013

The Florida State Seminoles finished atop the NCAA Football Sports Power Rankings after edging the Auburn Tigers for the BCS National Championship.

Florida State beat No. 5 Auburn 34-31 Monday night at the Rose Bowl to snap the SEC’s streak of seven consecutive national championships.

Baylor, despite losing 52-42 to No. 23 UCF in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl, ended the season at No. 2 in the NCAA Football Power Rankings. The Bears leapfrogged No. 3 Alabama, which dropped a 45-31 decision to No. 19 Oklahoma in the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

Ohio State remained at No. 4 and was followed by the Tigers, who climbed two spots in the NCAA Football Power Rankings despite their loss in the title game.

Oregon, Stanford, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Louisville completed the top 10. No. 9 Wisconsin fell four slots after falling by 10 points to No. 21 South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl.

Arizona State, Oklahoma State, Clemson, UCLA, Washington, Utah State, LSU, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, and Michigan State finished 11-20 in that order.

Rounding out the top 25 teams in the final NCAA Football Sports Power Rankings were South Carolina, Georgia, UCF, USC, and Bowling Green.

USC, which climbed 10 spots to No. 24 after a 45-20 dismantling of No. 46 Fresno State in the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl, and UCLA, which improved seven places to No. 14 with a 42-12 romp over No. 50 Virginia Tech in the Hyundai Sun Bowl, made the biggest upward moves among the top 25 teams.
